Impressing and super easy
… This quick and easy tarte aux pommes from Eric Frechon’s wonderfull cook book „un chef dans ma cuisine“ is really a big pleasure, I promise! The tarte is fruity and delicious and it is something you can impress your guests with. And the preparations doesn’t take much time. For my recipe here I just took granny smith apples instead of golden delicious and a little bit less sugar and butter – so no big modification to the original recipe. Because it is perfect! FOR 4 PERSONS
1 roll of puff pastry
2–3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored, halved and thinly sliced
+ butter for the form
14 Preheat the oven to 180°C.
13 Roll the pasty dough out and
12 place in a tart tin by pressing into the bottom and up the sides.
11 Then cut in shape.
10 Prick the pastry on the base with a fork.
9 Arrange the apple slices in an overlapping circular pattern on the pastry. (Start at the outside edge, and work towards the center.)
8 Place cold butter flakes onto the apple slices.
7 Sprinkle half of the sugar over the top.
6 Place tart in the middle grid of the oven.
5 Bake for 30 minutes.
4 Cool the tart on a wire rack for 15 minutes. (If possible in a cold place.)
3 Melt the rest of the butter and
2 brush onto the tart.
1 Sprinkle the rest of the sugar over the top.
